Lore & Background

The history of Bryyo is etched into the massive stone structures that dot its surface. The native Bryyon were a fierce people known for their combat abilities, leaving behind murals and temples that depict their struggles against external threats. While details of their fall remain fragmented, there is no evidence they faced conflict with Phazon prior to the arrival of Dark Samus; their civilization had already crumbled long before the Leviathan impact. The arrival of a Leviathan, crashed by Dark Samus, drastically altered the planet's state. The impact released concentrated Phazon energy that mutated local flora and fauna into aggressive variants. This corruption also awakened dormant defenses within the ruins. Despite the devastation, traces of Chozo influence can be found in certain sectors, suggesting an alliance or interaction between the Bryyon and the Chozo long ago. Samus Aran's intervention ultimately purges much of this corruption, though the scars remain.

The wind howls through the broken arches of the Temple Grounds, carrying the scent of ozone and decay.
